GB Council Shall legislate in the favour of People of Gilgit-Baltistan: Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ch Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said that Gilgit-Baltistan Council will make those legislations which will be in favour of the People of Gilgit-Baltistan and avoid those which are prone to opposition from the people. Legislation on Tourism Development Board and Forest Advisory Board will be made only after making consensus among the stake holders. All the stake holders will be dully consulted and after the complete consensus the legislations would be presented in the council’s meeting for approval. Federal Minister said that theirs was a democratic government and not an autocratic rule of a dictator. It was the norm of the democratic societies that decisions are made after consultation. He was chairing a meeting of Business Advisory Committee of Gilgit-Baltistan Council. Meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Shahidullah Baig and Joint Secretary Muhammad Ajmal Gondal. Members of Gilgit-Baltistan Council including Amjad Hussaid Advocate, Ibadat Ali, Muhammad Ibrahim, Saeed Afzal and Attaullah Shahab participated in the meeting. Agenda for upcoming session of Gilgit-Baltistan Council was also finalized in the meeting. Session of Gilgit-Baltistan Council will be held on 21st July 2014 under the chairmanship of Governor Gilgit-Baltistan, Peer Karam Ali Shah. Important decisions are expected in the meeting apart from legislation.
