Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Abdul Rasheed Turabi called on Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir

 Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Abdul Rasheed Turabi called on Chaudhary Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan in his office today. He was also accompanied by Mr. Noorul Bari, Naib Ameer and Mr. Mahmoodul Hassan, General Secretary.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami lauded the role of Federal Minister in bringing good governance and eliminating corruption from AJK. He said Ch Barjees Tahir gifted the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan with reputable Chief Secretaries and IG Police. Federal Minister said that promoting a culture of good governance and elimination of corruption is the top most priority of the present government. We have dismissed corrupt officers from Azad Jammu & Kashmir Council Secretariat. We have doubled the revenues which were collected from Kashmiri properties. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami pointed out towards constitutional reforms in AJK under 1974 Act. Minister said that constitutional reforms are basic right of the people of AJK. There is need of the hour that all political parties work together to formulate comprehensive constitutional reforms and must start working where they left it incomplete.

            Abdul Rasheed Turabi brought into the notice of the Federal Minister the culture of Army of Ministers in AJK government. He also brought into the notice of the Minister that it was no prudence to have such a large number of Ministers when there is an economic crisis. He mentioned Mushroom growth of Universities and Medical Colleges in AJK. He also mentioned irregularities going on in these institutions regarding appointments. Federal Minister told that those educational institutions were national assets and their affairs were already on the radar of the ministry. We have taken initiative against corrupt practices which will continue.

Maulana Noorul Bari, Naib Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islamic pointed out corrupt practices in Gilgit-Baltistan regarding black marketing of food items and their transportation. Federal Minister ensured him strict action against black sheep and also thanked him for bringing the matter into his notice.
