A delegation of PML (N) led by Raja Farooq Haider called on Federal Minister for KA & GB

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhary Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said that federal government does not want to conspire against AJK Government but ‘no confidence motion’ is constitutional right of opposition. Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shrif is seriously concerned about unbridled corruption in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. He said this while talking to Raja Farooq Haider, President PML (N) Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

A delegation of PML (N) led by Raja Farooq Haider called on Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan in his office on Tuesday.  Raja Farooq Haider said that with the coming of PML (N) Government there was a substantial decline in corruption all over the country and that corruption index improved considerably on international level but people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir were still deprived of fruits of good governance. He said that each and every department of Azad Kashmir was knee deep in corruption. There is an army of Ministers & Advisers on the expense of public money. Federal Government must limit the unbridled expenditures of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Government. AJK Development Budget has shamefully shrunk 18.5% which is a cause of concern. There is no merit in State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. He said that zero tolerance for corruption is the hall mark of PML (N) Government. Federal Government must play its constitutional role to help people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir get out of quagmire of corruption.

Ch Muhammad Barjees Tahir Federal Minister said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shrif has shown deep concern over rise of corruption in Azad Jammu & Kashmir during recent his visit. He said that scores of warnings have been issued to AJK Government in this regard but to no avail. AJK Government must not test our patience. Raja Farooq Haider also pointed out corruption in ERA & asked for the audit of Rs.44 billion. In this regard, Federal Minister showed his concern & directed the concerned authorities for inquiry. Raja Farooq Haider also proposed establishment of Economic Zone near Jehlum & Gujrat so that people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir could benefit from it. He demanded that Gowader Kashghar Motorway should also be linked with Kashmir. Federal Minister assured him to forward his considerations to Prime Minister of Pakistan.
